  Our food was very good but the attitude of our server, dampened the experience for us. She was not friendly and was bothered by answering our food related questions.

  my absolute favorite restaurant in the upper midwest (I grew up on West Coast). Food - wonderful, artistic, non pretentious, inventive, knock-out menu! Ambiance...just what I love (same adjectives). My fave entree: chicken breasts in a garlicky chipotle cream sauce, over linguine. We've always had warm and friendly servers. No reservations, so on a summer weekend evening the wait can be long. (One solution is to get there a bit before the evening hours begin). Some times I go with a friend for lunch, and split the garlic chicken chipotle with her since it's very, very generous. The bill is pretty reasonable in that situation. But not all portions are as large as the garlic chicken chipotle. Even if it's not on the blackboard, they will make it for you if you mention it!

  I love everything about this place. The food is exceptionally good and beautiful on the plate. This restaurant is well worth the drive. I drive 1.5 hours each way to the Harbor View several times each year and have always been delighted. For me, the measure of all other restaurants is, "how would this compare to a similar dish at Harbor View?" The Harbor View always wins. Always.
